In racing it is all about your mental training, growth, and development. This process, when done correctly allows the individual to evolve to a higher level of awareness and understand thus allowing him or her go reach their own limits.
Hello, and welcome to a brief mental training discussion from our racing college. I am Dr. Medsker and, at this time, I'm going to share with you another valued racing secret. But before I do I would like to review a few of the steps to get you to this level of thinking and racing performance. During the next few minutes allow me to take you on a wonderful magical mystery tour about the racing world at threshold speeds. Threshold is a term we used to describe the individual's personal ability to extract and utilized 100% of his or her own ability to perform. In other words doing it as fast as they can or that is humanly possible.
Why Is Mental Training More Important That Physical Training
In your studies at our racing college have or will learn that learning is 95% mental and 5% physical. And so racing is the same, 95% mental and 5% physical. Some individuals find these percentages hard to believe but nevertheless they are fact. I have found that the actual process of training the mind first and body second is a threshold educational process that is slowly catching in all forms of competition. Eventually this will become the standard of education and learning rather than the exception but for now know that mental training comes first before any and all physical training.
Why Is Balance Important
Riders, like most people take balance for granted. That is to say that they just overlook or do not consider this wonderful automatic biological process that their body provides without hesitation for them. So, how important is balance. If you have every been intoxicated with drugs (prescription or otherwise) or alcohol and try to walk you will have experienced the difficulties of being out of balance. Drugs and alcohol affect the balance and coordination systems of the body not the musculoskeleto systems.
So, when we discuss the process of balancing your minds and bodies we start with an experiential learning process. Experiencing the process goes way beyond words, language, and science. This actual experience redirects and focuses your thought process and links it into the innate automatic intuitive racing balance. From here we begin the classroom lectures and mental training drills. Our riders quickly recognize the mistakes being made by being out-of-balance and make quick mental corrections and their body's and bike's makes the recoveries. Recognizing the importance of being in balance or regaining balance is one of many reasons why our racing college teaches the best of the best. From the best come the rest.
Mental Balancing Always Comes First
As we say in racing "If your mind is not engaged your body is not working. The better your mind is engaged the better your body is working". Racing at threshold you mind must see everything yet see nothing. It must be ready for everything yet is ready for nothing. Most of threshold racing is performed by the unconscious mind leaving only a few decisions up to the conscious mind. The unconscious mind can operate the body many many times faster than the conscious mind. I have read that the unconscious mind can operated the body over 600 times faster than the conscious mind. And the individual rider's performance while racing in the automatic mode surely supports this fact. Just how does the mind do such a thing The mind makes and directs all other activities including all physical activities. Our college says, "The mind works in concert to orchestrate the entire body, bike, and track to work together in a maximum coordinated performance effort. Let's take a look at the terms concert and orchestration.
Orchestration & Concert
Orchestration is a term that originated in music and pertains to an orchestra (members of the musical group) and their orchestra leader and coordinator called the director. In mental training we teach that your thought process and awareness factors are the director of all things happening around you. Your mind coordinates and links together all of the smaller components and parts of the performance and blends them together to harmonize as one. Like the orchestra director your mind directors all the components of the event to work in concert or as one.
In quantum physics we learn that all physical form can be reduced to only two components. These two components are energy and information. Everything in our bodies is a library of information. In fact everything on our planet is a library of information and energy. The ability to link together, recall, and direct any information into immediate commands of action or decision making processes is a very important mental skill level to be developed by any racer. In our racing college we insist our rider do it.
Brain Imaging
Modern science always lays behind in its attempts to explain what is really going on. In racing we are more concerned about performance. Experiential events leave science way behind. Experiencing the event goes beyond words, language, and science. However, in the case of mental balancing science has brought us magnetic imaging. Magnetic imaging has allows us to view the brain during its process of thought. It has allows us to watch the mind direct its mental activities, orchestration, and how it works in concert to integrate and balance all of its coordinated thought patterns. This magnetic imaging process has developed colors in association with the actual mental thought processes themselves.
There are three images shown below. The first is the imaging color chart reference with respect to mental orchestration. It shows the associated colors and chart to the minds ability to orchestrate and place in concert the events going on around it.
The second diagram is the Mental Image #2 and illustrates a mind that is out of balanced both in orchestration and its ability to place its coordinated afford in concert with all the events going on around it.
The third diagram is the Mental Image #3 and illustrates a mind that is in balance and can very affectively orchestrate and place in concert all the events going on around it.
Diagram #1 shows the highest or maximum color associated with placing in concert and the orchestration of thoughts it creates. The highest or maximum is the color White. The colors descend from a maximum color value of white to a minimum color value of black. They are:

A Mind Out Of Balance
The above diagram #2 shows an individual who displays an incoherent brain image color pattern. The colors clearly demarcate and show a mental wave patter that is out of balance and therefore limits this individual's directed thought processes and his or her ability to apply them, as well. Remember in racing that the rider who is consistently making good decisions is the rider who is usually winning the event, too.
Diagram #3 shows a color image pattern of an individual who is working in concert with the events going on around him or her and is in tune with the mental orchestration processes going on in his or her mind. Know that when an individual is racing at or near the limits, we call threshold racing, being in mental balance is a necessity not an optimum. Clarity of mind and the ability to instantly put new optimums together with thought, without hesitation, is the desired response. Anything else is just not acceptable.

A Mind In-Balance
The Hemi-Sycn® Process
When I first experienced the Hemi-Sync® Process I could feel my mind coming together like an orchestra in tune and balanced. And in the days that followed I could feel its concert affects working on everything I did. It is a "Neat Feeling", to say the least. My strongest suggestions is for you to personally experience its affects, yourself. Let's continue our explanation.
This diagram illustrates a balanced and synchronized brain. The color wave patterns illustrate the balanced and enhanced ability for conscious directed thoughts in orchestration and in concert for both spontaneous recall memory and abilities to be immediately and spontaneously creative. Do you like apples? Well, how to you like these apples?

The Hemi-Sync Process
This unique sound induction process developed by HemiSycn uses an audiocassette tape imputing system to bring about the synchronized mental balancing. It generally takes from 20 to 30 minutes to instate and bring together this mental image pattern.
Hemi-Sync®
I have taught and trained mental techniques for over thirty years and have always paid careful attention for new and innovated mind growth, development, and improvement methods. And I have a great and extensive collection of this type of knowledge. One company that really caught my attention is called Hemi-Sync. Hemi-Sync has produced a mind technique that places your thought processes as the conductor who then can place and directs your entire body as an orchestra in concert. Hemi-Sync's method has to do with the balancing the individual's mind through harmonic sound. This mental balancing then equated into a measurable improvement in the individual's racing performance.
